Bill was born in Hartford, Conn and grew up nearby in Wethersfield, Conn. He is survived by Helen Rose King, his wife of 58 years, and his four children. His two daughters are Tara King Gregorich and Sarah King Davison; his two sons are Field John King and Dane Phelps King. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Bill and Helen met skiing in Stowe, VT in 1967. They both enjoyed several outdoor activities together: skiing, hiking, and camping. In 1967 they honeymooned in Snowmass CO and instantly fell in love with Colorado. When Bill finished college in Ithaca, NY, they eagerly moved to Aspen in 1969, then to Carbondale and then to Grand Junction in 1992. Bill worked as a Physical Therapist for 30 years in the Grand Valley. PT was his calling and his passion. With his sense of humor, words of encouragement and dedication he helped many people through challenging times. He eventually accumilated many "grandmas and grandpas" that were very fond of him. He kept in touch with some after he was no longer working with them. Bill bravely battled Lewy Body Dementia for a number of years. The PT in him was always looking for a way to keep his strength as long as he could. He is greatly missed by his family and friends. He ran a good race.
May he rest in peace
