William Paul Hanes, 67, of Whitewater, Colorado, passed away at his home on June 7, 2026.
William, better known as “Bill” to his friends and family and as “Billy” to his mom and sisters, was born in Covina, California on October 14, 1958. An avid outdoorsman, Bill loved to hunt, fish, and camp as often as circumstances would allow. He worked for over 30 years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, first as a firearms instructor and S.W.A.T. sniper, and later transitioned to being a pilot. Bill loved to shoot and was always willing to pass along his knowledge of firearms and firearms safety to anyone interested. He was a member of A House For His Name church and found joy in both his biological and church families. He was a devoted and caring husband, father, and grandfather.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Beverly Hanes, daughter Lindsey Hanes (Tristan), son Scott (Lauren) Hanes, and two granddaughters, Lilly and Sammy, who were the apples of his eye.
