Terry Loran Jarbo’s life was marked by faith, service, and love for people. Born on January 17, 1942, in Greybull, Wyoming, Terry grew up in the Pacific Northwest and joined the Army in 1961. While stationed in Germany in 1963, he came to know Christ through the Navigators, a decision that shaped his life and guided more than six decades of ministry and love for Jesus.
In 1966, Terry met Carol Ann Booze in North Platte, Nebraska, beginning a love story and ministry partnership that lasted nearly 60 years. They married on May 28, 1967, and followed God’s calling into rural ministry. After Terry graduated from Multnomah Bible School in 1971, he and Carol served churches and communities across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nebraska, and Colorado through pastoral ministry, campus ministry, Bible camps, vacation Bible schools, and countless acts of quiet service.
Terry and Carol’s family was deeply woven into their ministry. Their children, Jeremy, Heather, Joshua, and Jared grew up in rural communities attending summer bible camps and lived with a steady example of parents who loved Jesus. The family also endured deep sorrow with the loss of their oldest son, Jeremy, in 1990, a heartbreak that remained part of their story.
In 2005, Terry and Carol made their home in Cedaredge, Colorado, where they opened Creekside Bed and Breakfast and continued welcoming people and sharing Jesus until 2023. Terry also served as a driver for All Points Transit and as Chaplain at Horizons Care Center. He enjoyed writing, including publishing the children’s book Uphill Skis, and found joy in fishing, hunting, reading, and time with loved ones.
Terry will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and faithful follower of Jesus. His life reflected kindness, generosity, perseverance, and unwavering faith. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Richie, his parents Archie Long and Regina Jarbo, stepfather Gene Jarbo, and his beloved son Jeremy. Terry is survived by his wife Carol; children Heather (Gary) Almgren, grandkids Sydney and Silas; Josh (Amy) Jarbo and granddaughters Canyon and Hannah (Kyle) Flaherty Forrester; Jared (Lindsay) Jarbo and granddaughters Adiena and Auriella; sister Linda Jarbo Ward; brother David (Debbie) Jarbo.
