Sharon Faydene St. John

Sharon Faydene St John, aged 81, passed away on June 30, 2026. Her strength and resilience were matched only by her compassion and love for her family and friends. Intelligent and curious, she inspired those around her to challenge themselves. She wore many fascinating hats throughout her life, from being one of the early computer programmers in the 1960s, to working in a mine, and later dedicating herself to helping others as a mental health counsellor. She had the kindest of hearts. She loved her animals, cared deeply about the planet, and would give away her last dime to help someone in need. Her generosity and compassion knew no bounds.

If there is one image that captures her the best, it is of her sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee in one hand and a catalogue in the other, looking at the Uncompahgre Mountains in the distance. She could sit there for hours – all seasons, day or night. It was her favorite place that brought her quiet joy.

She is survived by her son, Thad, her daughter, Darcey, and her grandchildren, Laura, Bella and Theo, who adored their “Gma”.

She was deeply loved by her family and friends and her passing leaves a hole in their hearts. While we will miss her profoundly, there is some comfort knowing she is at peace, still looking after us and loving us all from the other side of the veil.
