Grand Junction

Roger A. Jones, born on March 2, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Grand Junction, Colorado, surrounded by his family after bravely battling Lewy Body Dementia. Roger, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, dedicated many years of service as a diesel mechanic in the Grand Valley before enjoying retirement driving for Grand Valley Transit.

A graduate of Palisade High School in 1967, Roger was known for his friendly and caring demeanor that could light up any room. His greatest joy came from his family, especially his five grandchildren and great grandson, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life. Roger cherished his time spent farming with his dad in his youth and embraced the outdoors through camping, fishing, and hunting. He had a passion for music, enjoyed attending concerts, and was an avid fan of the Broncos and Yankees. Most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events.

Roger is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Marsha Jones; his three daughters, Tanya Jones (Joe Thompson), Theresa Fulop, and Cherisse Jones of Grand Junction, CO; five grandchildren, Daniel Fulop of San Diego, CA, Kyle Baker of Grand Junction, CO, Kobie Katzer of Grand Rapids, MI, and Abigail and Brooklyn Jackson of Grand Junction, CO; and one great grandson, Lucas Baker of Grand Junction, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maxine Jones; three siblings, Audrey, Raymond, and Judith; and son-in-law Greg Katzer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28, 2026, at Chipeta Golf Course in Grand Junction, CO, starting at 2:00 PM, providing a space for all who knew and loved Roger to come together to honor his memory.

He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
