Michael Warner Coriden, 77, passed away on April 28, 2026, surrounded by his family in Grand Junction, Colorado. Michael was known for his dry sense of humor, his love of the outdoors and music, and his devotion to his wife Karen and their three daughters. An Iowa native, Michael completed his undergraduate degree in General Studies at the University of Iowa before earning a JD from Creighton and, later, an MBA from the University of Denver. Most importantly, it was during his undergraduate years that Michael met his future wife:
Michael and Karen met their sophomore year of college and became friends. Two years later, they fell in love while both participating in a summer marine biology program in Coos Bay, Oregon. They were married in Champaign, Illinois on October 12, 1974. Both avid hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, Michael and Karen moved to the Colorado Rockies in 1979, and, together, raised their three daughters in a home full of music, pets, and laughter.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Karen; their three daughters Courtney, Torrey, and Shannon, two sons-in-law Daniel and Jedidiah, and two granddaughters Imogen and Wren; and his two siblings Darby and David. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 3888 27 ½ Rd, Grand Junction, Colorado on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11am.
