Marilyn A. "Flynn" Bryan

February 17, 1943 — February 23, 2024

Marilyn Alice (Flynn) Bryan died February 23, 2024 at HopeWest after a long illness. 

Marilyn was born to Bill and Alice (McCabe) Flynn of Silt, CO on February 17, 1943. Marilyn grew up on the family farm on Dry Hollow, graduated 8th grade at Dry Hollow country school. She graduated high school at Rifle in 1961. After being unsuccessful in job hunting in Denver Marilyn joined the Navy 1962-1965. Her job was clerical as women couldn't be in combat at the time. She worked at Central Bank( US Bank) for 35 yrs in Denver and later at the Mattress Firm in Denver .

She married Daryold Bryan September 1, 1967 in Castle Rock, CO. He died July 28, 2002. Marilyn was a member of the Catholic Church. She love beautiful flowers, gardening, reading, history, Rockies, Broncos, her dogs, Snowball and Moose. She loved watching Gunsmoke and old westerns and gospel music. George Jones was her favorite country western singer. She was diligent in following her regiment for living with PKD and dialysis. 

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Daryold, two brothers, Jim and Jerry, two stepsons Daryold Jr. and Charles. 

She is survived by sister Eileen (Butch) Pressler formerly of Silt, Dennis (Mary Jo) Flynn of Grand Junction, Roger (Donna) Flynn of Show Low AZ. Four nephews, two nieces, grand nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 11am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 790 26 1/2 Road Grand Junction, CO 81506.  Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, CO.
