Opal Lorraine Wierman Rucker, aged 93, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Born in Ness City, KS on November 14, 1930, Lorraine dedicated much of her life to her community and family.
A resident of Ness City, KS, Garden City KS and Grand Junction, Colorado. Lorraine graduated from Ness City High School in 1948. She worked alongside her husband, Donald Rucker, at the Ben Franklin store until its closure. Lorraine was deeply involved in her children's activities, serving as a Cub Scout den mother, a Brownie Scout leader, and a Sunday School teacher at the United Methodist Church in Ness City.
After moving to Colorado, she continued to play an active role in the lives of her youngest children, Donald and Jennifer. Lorraine's commitment to her family and community left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edith Wierman, her sisters Kay Mcleish, Fern Pfannenstiel, and Polly Wykoff, and her husband, Donald Rucker. She is survived by her children, Ted, Robert, Chris, Susan, Donald, and Jennifer; 7 grandchildren; 7 greatgrandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorraine's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her community, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
