Leah D Kitson

August 17, 1952 — May 25, 2025

Leah was born to a life of many trials in 1952. She took each challenge in stride and emerged stronger and focused on making things easier for the next person.

In 1973, she married Louis (Gene) Kitson and together they raised five (5) children, as well as became a safe haven for countless others. It was a common occurrence to have someone see her in public, wrap her a bear-hug and say “Hi Ma.” Family was her greatest source of joy and pride. She never missed an opportunity to brag on the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For her family didn’t stop there though. Many friends have remarked that they felt embraced by her love and included in the family bond.

In addition to raising her family, Leah worked alongside her husband on ranches and in a sawmill. She still looked forward to spring, when all the calves began romping in the local fields and one of her favorite scents was fresh cut cedar. She also returned to school, first receiving her certification as a Nursing Assistant, her EMT and then her Associates as a Medical Assistant. Showing her dedication to caring for others.

After 72 years of caring for everyone around her, the Lord felt the need to brighten heaven with her presence. She passed on May 25th surrounded by love and family.

To grieve her passing, Leah leaves her children Marty Kitson, Dean (Kathleen) Kitson, Teri (Mike) Austin, Lant (Megan Evers) Kitson, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers Gary (Cindy) Edwards, Randy (Ileen) Edwards, and Lloyd (Linda) Nelson and her sisters-in-law Evelyn Cronk and Myrna (Vance) Westernman. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents, husband, daughter, grandson, great-granddaughter and great- grandson. The pains of this world have left her and her laughter rings loud.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

The world has known beauty and love, because she walked here.
