Jerry Charles Saub was born in Gordon, Nebraska July 14, 1940 to Charles and Clara Saub. He
graduated from Gordon High School and went to college at Iowa State. After college, Jerry
joined the Navy where was he a Petty Officer and served on the Brinkley Bass. He then moved
to San Diego and became interested in the stock market and investing. Jerry enjoyed traveling,
skiing, bicycling, surfing, playing bridge, and music. He was an excellent pianist and learned
several languages. He moved to Hawaii to promote his patent for a method to make soybeans
edible, which several chefs in Hawaii used in their restaurants. His parents wanted him to come
back to Gordon and help run the department store, Saub’s Inc. He took care of his parents for
16 years until their deaths. In 2018, Jerry moved to Grand Junction, Colorado to live with his
sister where he started fishing, walking, riding ATVs, going to the cabin, and other activities with
his family. Jerry is survived by his sister, Carole Finkel and Sandy (Frank) Ferguson, nephews
Michael (Johnna) Miller and Bob (Sherrill) Miller, nieces Angela Lynch and Elizabeth (Dave)
Marsh and several great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Loma Community Church
on Saturday, February 24th at 2:00 p.m.
