Ina Walk

January 29, 1937 — July 3, 2023

Ina Louise Walk, 86, of Encampment, Wy (previously of Heyworth, IL) passed away on July 3rd, 2023 at the Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, CO.



Ina was born January 29th, 1937 to the late Ray and Rachel (Flesher) Huffman, then of Danvers, IL. Ina spent her childhood on family farms in central IL and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1955. After having her 3 children, she pursued education and a career in business administration where she held positions in hospital administration and real estate management, from which she retired.



Ina's life was also highlighted by her love of traveling, eventually leading her to the wild west, where she fell in love with the mountains and her heart never left. She loved to explore, hunt, and collect Native American jewelry. Ina also enjoyed music and regularly visited family and friends around the country. She made a consistent home in Encamplement, WY where she regularly attended the Riding On Faith Cowboy Church in Saratoga, WY and loved to sit on her swing watching the wildlife.



Preceding her in death are her parents and her brother, Larry Huffman. Those of her family left to remember her are three siblings, Ray Huffman of Encampment, WY, Roberta Curtis of Bloomington, IL and RaeAnn Lorenz of Colorado Springs, CO; three children, Machelle (George) Bower of Lake Placid, FL, Brian Walk of Heyworth, IL and Lisa (Kevin) Powers of Tioga, ND; two grandchildren, Amber (Jesse) Brandt of Carlock, IL and JW (Valerie) Sheering of Williston, ND and five great-grandchildren.



Ina will be remembered for her passion and dedication to her career, her love of family, and her adventurous spirit. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. No services are planned at this time.


Memorial donations can be made to HopeWest 3090 North 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506 which is the outstanding facility that so graciously and lovingly cared for her in her last weeks here on earth.
