HARCOURT A. TEW, Jr. “Harky” passed away September 22, 2026, with his loving ladies (Jacklin, Bonny, Lynn, and Becky) by his side at the age of 89 after a lengthy battle with COPD at The Lodge at Grand Junction assisted living.

Harky was born June 15, 1937, in Ketchikan, Alaska. Growing up his family ran a tugboat service in Ketchikan for moving logging rafts. He worked his way up throughout Alaska retiring as a Captain from the Alaska State Troopers after 20 years of service. He then went right into Alaska Pipeline Security for 15 years.

Harky is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Lilene. He married Jacklin Killough August 3, 1996 and a few years later they moved to Grand Junction where she was residing when they met. His family remembers him as a fun, loving, wonderful father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather who had a great sense of humor, quick wit, with strong morals and ethics.

He is survived by wife Jacklin Tew, sister Nancy Heacock of TX, son Donald Tew of AK, daughters Bonny (Pio) Cottini of AK, Becky (Andrew) Arneson of CO, and Lynn Wargo of CO. Also, Laurie (Gerald) Kulish of ND, Jay (Cheryl) Hergert of WY. Grandchildren Randy Ward of AK, Eric Kulish of ND, Coral Vecharelli of CO, Michael Wargo of WY, Jessica (Wayne) Hsiao of MN, Angelina (Joel) Burns of AK, Ryan Holland of CA, Mario Cottini of AK, Christian Kulish of ND. Great-grandchildren Dominic, Jaxson, Reagan, Maxwell, Riley, and Mateo.
