Gregory Robert Hazelhurst passed away on January 8, 2026, in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the age of 75. He was born on November 2, 1950, in Denver, Colorado.
Greg is survived by his wife, Claudia; his sons, Sean (wife Jenna) and Drew; and grandchildren, Evelyn and Finn.
He dedicated much of his early career to helping others. He worked as a ski patrolman at Powderhorn Resort before becoming a paramedic and firefighter for the City of Grand Junction. Later, he transitioned into business management working for Keystone Custom Builders for many years. Greg was a longtime member of the JUCO committee and ran the message board for over 30 years.
Greg was the go to person for anything you needed. Whether it was lending a helping hand, or fixing something that seemed beyond repair, he was often found tinkering on projects in his garage, where sports were always playing — one game on the television and another simultaneously on the radio.
Greg had a true passion for the outdoors and was always planning his next adventure for himself, his family and friends. His love for skiing, fly fishing, golfing, taking road trips and spending time in South Park were the things that brought him the most joy.
Greg’s kindness, generosity, and love of life will not be forgotten. He will be missed.
A service to honor Greg’s life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary, located at 790 26 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506. Reception to follow at Bookcliff Country Club from 2-5pm.
