1956 Glen 2025

Glen Ray Coup

July 21, 1956 — June 3, 2025

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Glen Ray Coup—a man whose strength, quiet devotion, and deep love for his family shaped a legacy that will never fade. He was a steadfast husband, a proud father, a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather, and a true example of what it means to live with purpose and pride.

Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Carl and Helen Coup, Glen was one of seven children and raised in Fruita, where his work ethic and character were forged on the family farm. From a young age, Glen knew the value of hard work—taking jobs as a ranch hand, working in the mines, and eventually building a 37-year career with Parkerson Construction. He was steady, reliable, and never one to shy away from a challenge. His calloused hands and quiet presence spoke volumes.

Though he could outwork anyone, Glen also knew how to enjoy life. He had a deep love for the outdoors, whether he was riding his Harley, gardening, or camping beneath the stars. His love for the water ran deep—he often swam better than the lifeguards at the old Fruita pool and taught many others how to swim. He spent countless hours there, and it’s also where he met the love of his life, Pilar. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unshakable devotion.

He loved to dance and never hesitated to jump into a game of pool. And his passion for motorcycles didn’t end with him—he proudly passed that love down to his grandson Geno, who rides with the same spirit.

More than anything, Glen treasured his family. His daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought a tenderness out of him that softened even his toughest days. He showed his love in quiet, powerful ways—by showing up, sharing what he knew, and fiercely protecting the people he loved.

Glen was the kind of man who left an impression. Rugged yet warm, steady yet full of spark. He taught us how to be strong without losing tenderness, and how to live simply but with great love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen Coup, and his brother Donny. He is survived by his wife, Pilar Coup; his daughter, Miranda Gallegos; his grandchildren, Alexus (Benjamin) Garcia, Amara (Israel) Gutierrez, and Geno Gallegos; his great-granddaughters, Ava, Aleigha, Ophelia, Sol, and Noa; his siblings, Henry, Marilyn, Carolyn, Jean, and Gary; and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Glen will be deeply missed, and forever cherished.

Ride easy, Grandpa. We love you.
