Francis Lawrence Eggers

April 9, 1938 — April 13, 2022

Known by all as Larry

Born 4/9/1938 to John Perry Eggers and Bertha Anna Bangs-Eggers at their home in Cortez Colorado.

South Western Colorado was home to Larry. Growing up in Colorado, Larry enjoyed exploring, hunting and fishing. Larry, alongside his family, worked hard farming, as well as cutting and hauling lumber during a time when they didn’t have indoor plumbing or electricity. His favorite childhood memories included hunting in the mountains with his Dad and getting into mischief with his brother and sisters around the farm.

After high school Larry joined the Army. He served the majority of his time in the military in Germany. He was stationed at Rothwesten Air Base East of Kassel in northern Germany.

After completing his tour of duty in the Army, Larry settled in the South San Fransisco Bay Area of California also known as Silicon Valley. He was a pioneer in the engineering industry and played a big part in many start up companies that paved the way to the Silicon Valley we know today. The most notable of these companies that Larry helped establish was Sun Microsystems which was acquired by the Oracle Corporation in 2010.

Larry retired in the early 1990’s and returned home to Colorado. Retirement didn’t last long and he started up his own burger restaurant called Burger Concepts in Grand Junction. After this venture, Larry began a career in real estate; eventually opening up his own brokerage Eggers & Associates.

Larry was a proud American, he loved our flag and flew it outside his home every day. He was also extremely proud of his Native American heritage which was evident everywhere in his home. He enjoyed playing his collection of Native American flutes and performed over the years at many community events.

Larry was asked recently what his greatest memories in life were. He responded that his greatest memories were the births of his two daughters, Debbie and Cheryl. This is so fitting because family meant everything to Larry. Larry was surrounded by family and his sweetheart Audrey in his final days and enjoyed a wonderful 84th birthday celebration!

Everyone who knew Larry knew it was his way or the highway and he definitely did it all his way all the way.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents John Perry Eggers and Bertha Anna Bangs-Eggers, his brother John Wesley Eggers, brother-in- law Max Croasmun, nephew Michael Eggers, niece Evelyn Eggers and great nephew Mike Eggers.

Larry is survived by daughters Deborah Eggers-Moss (Robert), Cheryl Eggers-Marshall (Michael), sisters Roberta Eggers-Croasmun (Max), Dorlea Eggers-Beech (Jack), sweetheart Audrey Spaulding, grand children Kristina Chambers (Chris Fiorentino), Noah Chambers (Sarah), Kaity French (Brian), Curtis Day Jr, Erin Moss, Andrew Day, Ian Moss, Madison Kusanovich, great grandchildren Scarlett Chambers, Harper French, Hudson French, nieces and nephews Dona Holder (Rick), Steve Croasmun (Dawn), Deborah Donathon, Liz Eggers, Fred Eggers (Becky), Laurie Eggers, Robert Eggers, Mary Endner, Anna Hilton, Rebekah Beech, James Beech, John Beech, Nadara Rutherford (David), Marian Nelson (Dan), Reginald Beech (Jo Beth), Randy Beech (Sharlie) and many many many great nieces and nephews.
