Elaine Helen Schrimsher

Elaine Schrimsher, the devoted heart of her family, passed away on April 23, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, surrounded by her family, at the age of 78.

A woman of boundless warmth and energy, Elaine was happiest when her hands were busy—whether tending to her thriving garden or preparing meals that brought everyone to the table. She truly had a green thumb and could make anything grow, but her greatest cultivation was the love she poured into her family.

Known as an incredible cook, Elaine’s kitchen was the heart of the home. She lived her life with a “family first” spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own and making sure those she loved were cared for, fed, and supported. She was a steady presence and a soft place to land for her children, grandchildren, and friends alike.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Curtis Schrimsher; her children, Beth McNeilly and husband Matt, and Jon Schrimsher; her grandchildren, Amanda Rogers and husband Nigel, Curtis Wright and wife Rachelle, Sage Schrimsher and wife Stephanie, Macie Moffat and husband Trent, Devon McNeilly, and Nate York; and her great-grandchildren, Kimmy, Lanie, Katie, Kaylee, Emily, and one baby girl on the way. She is also survived by her niece, Teri, along with many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Agnes Wagner; her sisters, Dianne Landergott and Betty Stoffle; her nephew, Jeff Landergott; and her niece, Lisa Talaska.

A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on May 2, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave, Craig, Colorado.

In honor of her love for nurturing others, the family suggests planting a lilac bush or making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Her love will continue to grow in the hearts of all who knew her.
