Clifton Smart

Aug 16, 1972 — Oct 5, 2026

Clifton Wayne Smart, known to family and friends as "Clif," passed away on October 5, 2026, in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the age of 54.

Born on August 16, 1972, in Modesto, California, Clif spent most of his early life growing up in California before moving to Washington, where he built a career as a truck driver. It was there that he met Tina, who would become his wife and the love of his life,

Clif and Tina met in 2009 and married in 2013, sharing 17 years together and 13 years of marriage. Clif embraced Tina's two children, DJ and Dani, raising them as his own. Family was an important part of the life they built together

Clif was a bit of a homebody who enjoyed the simple things in life. He and Tina shared a small farm where they enjoyed riding horses together and caring for their many animals. Their dogs held a particularly special place in their hearts.

Clif was funny, kind, and had a huge heart. Known for his dry sense of humor and never being afraid to speak his mind, he had a way of making people laugh while always being himself. He looked forward to football season and cheering on his Seattle Seahawks, but his greatest passion was NASCAR.

Clif is survived by his wife, Tina Smart, and their children, DJ and Dani; his father, Samuel Smart, and his wife, Kim, affectionately known as "Mama Kim, who raised Clif; and his three brothers and their families: Jason and his wife, Jennifer, and their children Sam, EllieGrace, and Callie; Steven and his wife, Jandee, and their children McKelvy, Jaden, Kessler, and Sawyer; and Josh and his wife, Erica, and their children Brittany, Danielle, Jonathan, and Jacob

Clif was preceded in death by his mother, Christy Ann Rieger.

Clif will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His kindness, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor will be remembered,
