Charles “Chuck” Lohmiller passed away peacefully at his home in Hawaii on June 10, 2026, surrounded by the beauty of a place he loved.
Chuck was born on June 9, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa, where he spent his youth playing tennis and golf and developing a lifelong love of the outdoors. He attended the Colorado School of Mines, earning a degree in Metallurgical Engineering that shaped the analytical mindset that guided his life and career.
After beginning his career at Haynes Trane in Denver, Chuck’s curiosity and drive led him to earn his MBA from the University of Denver. In 1990, he took an entrepreneurial leap, purchasing a competing company and founding Lohmiller & Company, a regional Carrier distributor. With a strategic vision and a focus on lasting relationships, he grew the business one partnership at a time. His professional legacy lives on through the company and the many people whose careers he influenced along the way.
In 1989, Chuck married Kristin McCloskey Lohmiller after meeting through mutual friends at the Denver Athletic Club. Together, they blended their families and raised Amy (Owens), Jill (Lohmiller), Megan (Dow), and Jimmy (McCloskey) in Denver. His family was a profound point of pride. His personal legacy lives on through Kristin, his children and their spouses, and his four beloved grandchildren: Kai, Bode, Gemma, and Hanna.
Chuck had a passion for golf, cars, food, and travel, and he was able to enjoy each throughout his life. His athleticism made him a natural everywhere from the ski slopes to the running track. In retirement, he and Kristin split their time between Snowmass, Colorado, and Hawaii - two places that brought them great joy and allowed them to embrace their shared love for the outdoors.
Chuck will be remembered for his humility, sharp mind, confidence, sense of humor, and coaching spirit. He found genuine joy in helping others succeed. He strove for the best in himself and in others. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
A private funeral will be held for Chuck at Christ Church Aspen.
