Alice Marie Prever

February 28, 1931 — April 12, 2024

Alice Marie Prever went home to be with her Lord April 12, 2024. She was born February 28, 1931 in Edgeley, North Dakota to Martin and Ruby (Potts) Backhaus. Her family moved to Fowler, Colorado where she was raised. She graduated from Fowler High School. Alice met Lawrence Prever during her school years and they married in 1949. They moved to Cañon City, Colorado in 1953, where they raised their family. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska, and wintered in Arizona. Alice is remembered as a woman of faith and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Alice is survived by her children Nancy (Don) Black, Carol (Jim) Thomas, grandchildren Jennifer Bausch, Sarah (Chad) Beaudin, Jason (Becky) Thomas, Amanda Thomas, eight great grandchildren, Allie (Alex) Bishop, Katie Beaudin (Josiah Barron), Samantha (Cole) Parker, Jessica Bausch, Kevin Beaudin, Jason (Jessi) Bausch , Joyalee Bausch, Jackson Thomas and three great great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence. There will be a celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at Victory Baptist Church, Montrose, Colorado. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Fowler, Colorado.
