Shirley M. Ukele

Shirley Ukele age 92, of Loma, CO, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at home under

the care of HopeWest Hospice. Shirley was born to Ernest Edward (Ned) Martin and Dora Mae

Graham in Grand Junction, CO, August 1931. She spent most of her childhood in Gateway, CO,

graduating there in 1949. Shirley was a homemaker, seamstress, milkmaid, bookkeeper; retiring

from Coors Porcelain in 1992.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, John Ukele; her parents Dora

and Lawrence Williams; brothers Lynn and Clifford Martin, sister Vanetta; and grandson Jerry

Fry.

Survivors include daughters Rachel Fry (Jack) and Roberta Raley; and son Jack Ukele (Sandi);

grandchildren: Chad Davis, Herb Raley, and George Fry; and 6 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Fruita Faith

Baptist Church; 180 S Elm, Fruita, CO. Following the services there will be a potluck lunch with

meat and service provided. Please bring a side or dessert to share.
