Debra Lynn Cole

January 3, 1960 — September 6, 2023

Debra Lynn Cole got her wings and went to walk with the angels on September 6th, 2023. She was just 63 years old. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandma, and great grandma who was always there when someone was in need. She will be sadly missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Born on January 3rd, 1960 in Fremont, Nebraska, Debbie made a living in health care, nursing, hospital administration and consulting, blessing so many lives through kindness and healing. She had many hobbies she loved dearly including drawing, painting, sewing, hosting gatherings, camping, hunting, four wheeling, fishing, taking in any and every type of animal she came across, cooking, swimming, gardening and spending time with her beloved family.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Gorden Cole, her four children: Dave (Elizabeth), Natalie (Gary), Lindsey and Amanda (Makaela), four grandchildren: Kera (Braydon), Dean, Reese and Stella, and one great grandchild: Grayson. She was also known to love and “adopt” many other families, friends and children throughout our community. Debbie is also survived by her three older brothers: Billy (Karen), Mike (Joanie), Gary (Terrie), an older sister: Sue (David) and a younger sister: Vicki. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Ruth Payzant (Nichols),

Today, we do not mourn for Debbie’s death, but celebrate her life and all of the treasured memories she left for each and every one of us. We rest easy knowing she has returned to her maker, surrounded by the loved ones who went before her, and will forever be watching over us until the day we reunite through the golden gates of heaven.

Please join us in a celebration of Debbie’s life on Monday, September 18th at 11:00 am. The service will be held at The Chapel at Canyon View Vineyard Church, 736 24 1/2 Road in Grand Junction, Colorado. A reception will immediately follow the celebration of life.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand.

That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand;

The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above,

And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me,

And told me “Welcome Home.”

So when tomorrow starts without me, Don’t think we’re far apart,

For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
